Plug-Ins

FinishLynx will operate with a number of software plug-ins. These are software enhancements that can be purchased by the user to add features to the standard FinishLynx software. These features are primarily aimed at meeting the needs of specific sports and specific situations and are designed to be added as needed by the user.

LIST OF AVAILABLE PLUG-INS

Automatic Capture Mode (ACM) Plug-in The Automatic Capture Mode (ACM) Plug-in for FinishLynx enables the software to detect and record all finish line activity automatically so you no longer need to press and hold a capture button to record photo-finish images. ACM also allows your camera to be used as a “virtual photo-eye” that will instantly broadcast running-times, splits, and finish times to any compatible displays at your venue. LapTime (LT) Plug-in The LapTime (LT) Plug-in enables the FinishLynx software to generate competitor lap times from a FinishLynx image or compatible 3rd-party device like a chronometer or chip timing system. LapTime events can be recorded for each competitor and integrated with FinishLynx fully automatic timing results via the FinishLynx software. See LapTime (LT) Plug-in for details.
Multiple-Split Interface (MSI) Plug-in The Multiple-Split Interface (MSI) Plug-in allows FinishLynx operators to capture multiple finish lines within a single race using the FinishLynx software. Adding the MSI to FinishLynx means the software can be configured to capture multiple images with the same camera (i.e.; the camera records a new image every lap); or when multiple cameras are present, the software can capture images from several different cameras located throughout the race (i.e.; capture images from cameras located every 1/4 mile of a thoroughbred track). Network ComPort (NCP) Plug-inThe Network ComPort (NCP) Plug-in allows you to use a single FinishLynx computer to communicate with multiple serial or network devices directly through TCP sockets instead of serial ports. With the help of SeriaLynx, you can put serial devices such as scoreboards, wind gauges, and LapTime devices on a wired or wireless Ethernet network and then use the plug-in to enable FinishLynx to communicate with those devices. RadioLynx Wireless Start (RL) Plug-In The RadioLynx Wireless Start (RL) Plug-In integrates RadioLynx Wireless Start technology with the FinishLynx timing and results software. The RadioLynx plug-in allows users to connect any number of start sensors or photo eyes wirelessly to their FinishLynx software, providing increased range and mobility for starters and ultimate flexibility in obtaining splits. Time Trial (TT) Plug-in The Time Trial (TT) Plug-in enables the FinishLynx software to operate in Time Trial Mode where multiple, varying start times can be assigned to competitors across a single event. Unlike traditional athletics events where one start signal is used for all athletes, some events (like road cycling) may require multiple start times. See Time Trial (TT) Plug-in for details.
External Sync (ES) Plug-in The External Sync (ES) Plug-in for FinishLynx allows you to attach an external timer to an EtherLynx camera through the PHOTOEYE A input. This allows you to synchronize the camera time of day to a GPS satellite so cameras that cannot be attached to the network will have the same TOD at different locations for precise accuracy. With this plug-in you can sync cameras to an external timer, create and save a new event; then turn off the cameras, set them up elsewhere and re-sync them to the same external timer. Once the cameras are re-synchronized, you can then capture into the previously saved event while ensuring the same time-of-day and accuracy.
