Hardware Control Window

The Hardware Control window is the first screen that appears when FinishLynx is started. The main objective of this screen is to allow the operator to align and configure each EtherLynx and IdentiLynx camera before the start of a competition.

ClosedCamera Information icon
Clicking this icon will open the Camera Settings dialog for the camera selected in the Camera listing.
ClosedCamera Alignment icons
or 1D Align Toggle 1D alignment mode on (GREEN) and off (RED) by clicking this icon.
or 2D Align Toggle EasyAlign Mode on (GREEN) and off (RED) by clicking this icon.
NOTE: When alignment is on (GREEN icon), FinishLynx displays the real-time view of EtherLynx or IdentiLynx cameras. The image observed in the Alignment Zone cannot be saved or used to time any races, but only for the alignment process.
ClosedElectronic ViewFinder (EVF) checkbox
Check this box to toggle EVF on and off.
ClosedHardware status
  • (Looking for EtherLynx Cameras.) Indicates that FinishLynx is configured to find and load EtherLynx and IdentiLynx cameras.
  • (Not looking for hardware.) Indicates that FinishLynx is not trying to find and load EtherLynx and IdentiLynx cameras. When multiple computers are running FinishLynx on the same network, this setting should be used on all except the computer capture image. See Multi User Mode for details.
NOTE: Once an EtherLynx or IdentiLynx camera is loaded, the status is replaced by the Camera listing.
ClosedCamera listing
  • Displays basic camera settings for each EtherLynx or IdentiLynx camera loaded in FinishLynx.
  • Click a row to highlight (white background) and select a camera. Functions from clicking subsequent icons (Camera settings, Alignment, Remote Control) will be applied to this camera.

Click to zoom out during Alignment mode.
Click to zoom in during Alignment mode.
ClosedFocus helper
Displays a relative reference number for the selected camera. The higher the number, the better the focus.
ClosedLevel indicator
Displays the value of the Electronic Level in the selected camera.
Disabled. The Electronic Level option is not enabled on the selected camera. For Vision-Series, contact Lynx Sales to purchase this option.
ClosedWhite Balance
Icons Description
White balance is not set.
White balance is set. Click to reset.
White balance is pending. Click to set new values.
Decrease red, green or blue value.
Increase red, green or blue value.
NOTE:
The white balance icons are only enabled in alignment mode.
The legacy white balance function is still available.
ClosedAlignment Zone

The region below the zoom icons, focus helper and level indicator is used to display the real-time image of EtherLynx or IdentiLynx cameras when alignment is turned on.

ClosedEnhance/Lanes Bar

A vertical bar appears on the left side of the Alignment Zone and allows the operator to define horizontal areas on the image to be used as Enhance or Lanes regions.

    1. Open iris

    5. Zoom in
    6. Zoom out
  • Click to return the Remote Positioner to the start position.
  • Click to automatically find the finish line. Applies to EtherLynx 2000 cameras only.
TIP: Hold a modifier key to increase the step size: Simple click < Shift-click < Ctrl-click < Ctrl-Shift-click.
