Database Options
See the Databases section for details on how to configure and integrate a database connection.
Indicates which kind of database is being used with FinishLynx: None, Files (Usually a network configuration), Serial Port (old school configuration).
Controls the character format being transferred between FinishLynx and the database.
Sets the precision of the times being sent to the database. For example, sometimes data programs use times in thousandths to separate competitors, but the results are only produced in hundredths. Any of the following values can be selected:
- On Screen
- Seconds
- Fifths
- Tenths
- Hundredths
- Thousandths
- Ten Thousandths
Sets the location of the directory to which FinishLynx will go to find the lynx.sch, lynx.evt, lynx.ppl and *.rif files.
Sets the location of the directory to which FinishLynx will send the lynx.lif files.
When Serial Port is selected in Data Source, the location of the correct serial port that is used for the database is set here. See Port Settings for more information.
Controls the format of the data being transferred between FinishLynx and the database.
When a database program uses the Checksum option, the data is checked for errors in transmission. Do not select this option unless instructed to do so by your database program manufacturer.
This option will need to be set to On to generate Lynx Interface Files (*.lif) when results are saved. This file will be used by the database program to import results.
The following options can be appended to the LIF file saved by FinishLynx:
- Date Appends the date to the LIF file name.
- Text Appends free-text entered to the LIF file name.
- Filters Appends the name of the enabled filter to the LIF file name.
Controls the character format to be used when saving the LIF file.
