Wind Gauge Options

Use the drop-down menu to select the wind gauge to be used.

Sets the port used for the wind gauge. See Port Settings for more information.

Default Mode selection sets the wind measurement parameters when a new event is created.

• Manual  Used when the operator triggers a wind measurement manually. The duration is configurable.
• Custom  Used when the wind measurement should be triggered by a start signal, but does not correspond to other preset options below. Both the start and duration are configurable.
• 100M  Preset Start (0.0) and Duration (10.0) for a 100m athletics race.
• 200M Preset Start (20.0) and Duration (10.0) for a 200m athletics race. It is expected the operator will manually start the wind reading when the leader enters the straightaway. The value of 20.0 for Start ensures a wind reading will be retrieved if the operator forgets.
• 100M Hurdles  Preset Start (0.0) and Duration (13.0) for a 100m Hurdles athletics race.
• 110M Hurdles Preset Start (0.0) and Duration (13.0) for a 110m Hurdles athletics race.

Defines the time from the start signal FinishLynx will send a command to the wind gauge to begin the wind measurement.

Defines how long the wind measurement will last.

When set to ON, FinishLynx will pop-up a dialog when a new event is created to remind the operator to check the wind gauge settings.

When ON, FinishLynx will pop-up a dialog if the wind gauge does not respond as expected. For the Lynx wind gauge, this is as soon as a problem is detected, for others, the warning will be after a failed attempt at retrieving a reading.
