Single Event Mode
Single Event Mode limits the number of open events in FinishLynx to one. Creating a new Event or open an existing one will force any currently open Events to close first. If unsaved changes are present, the Close Event Window dialog will appear asking if the Event should be saved before closing.
HOW TO ALLOW MULTIPLE OPEN EVENTS?
FinishLynx can be configured to have multiple Events active at the same time.
- To allow this, single event mode must be turned off:
- Click Event | Options... from the Menu Bar. The Event tab of the Options dialog appears.
- Click to select Single Event Mode: Off.
HOW TO MANAGE MULTIPLE OPEN EVENTS?
The operator must keep track of which event is currently set to receive the next start, capture image, send data to scoreboards or receive data from a LapTime device. This can be done by observing the indicators in the OPEN EVENT LISTING.
- Click to select the target Event in the Open Event Listing.
- To receive the next start Click Event | Arm from the Menu Bar or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-A.
- To capture If the capture button is currently inactive, click on the button activation icon once. If the capture button is currently active for another window, click on the button icon twice: once to stop capturing and a second time to activate the icon for the selected window.
- To send to scoreboards Click Scoreboards | Display current event.
- To receive from a LapTime device Click LapTime | Use current event or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-L.
NOTE: Having multiple open events can be confusing and is not recommended for the novice operator.
